Baking a cake does not have to be hard, even if you are going for a vegetarian recipe. There are some great easy cake recipe ideas that you can use, to get that gorgeous cake that you want but without all the muss and fuss.

Chocolate Cake

This is one cake that you can never go wrong with. Everyone loves chocolate, and if not they will at least enjoy looking at this cake. For this easy cake recipe, you will need ½ cup butter, 1 ½ cups granulated sugar, 3 eggs well beaten, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 2 cups flour, ½ cup cocoa, 4 teaspoon baking powder, ½ teaspoon salt, and 1 ¼ cups milk.

Now to prepare all you do is cream together the butter and sugar, add in the eggs and vanilla, beating lightly, and then sift the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt together in a bowl. Add this mixture to the cream mixture, alternating with milk, and then beat the mixture well until smooth and completely combined.

Pour the batter into cake pans and bake at 350ºF for 30 minutes or until you can insert a toothpick in the middle and have it come out clean. This takes no time at all, and is an easy cake recipe that you are surely going to want to add as a staple to your cooking repertoire.

Apple Cinnamon Cake

For a bit more spice, try out this easy cake recipe for apple cinnamon cake. You will need 3 apples, 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, ½ cup vegetable oil, ½ cup sugar, 2 eggs, 1 cup all-purpose flour, ½ teaspoon baking powder, ¼ cup milk, 1 tablespoon sugar, and whipped cream or vanilla ice cream to serve on the side.

To prepare this easy cake recipe, you just grease and flour a cake pan, peel and core the apples, cutting them into thin half circles, and then sprinkle the cinnamon over the apples and toss to coat. Set this aside, and preheat the oven to 375ºF. Sift the flour and baking powder together, set aside as well.

Now you mix the vegetable oil and sugar into a large bowl using a whisk, mix in the eggs one at a time, gently mix in the flour mixture, and then add in the milk and whisk well. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, and layer the apple slices over the batter tightly. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of the sugar over the apple slices, and you can sprinkle some more cinnamon on top if you like.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, and the cake will be ready to eat when you can insert a toothpick in the middle and have it come out clean.
