A Guide to Non-Invasive Cosmetic Surgery

If you are scared to go under the knife but you want to improve your appearance with cosmetic surgery, there are many options available to you. Botox, chemical peels, collagen injections, and laser skin resurfacing are all examples of cosmetic plastic surgery procedures that are non-invasive but can dramatically improve your appearance.

Botox

Botox injections can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Botox temporarily reduces or eliminates creases, lines, and wrinkles on your face. Botox gives your skin a smooth, refreshed appearance because it paralyzes the muscles. A Botox session will last anywhere from ten minutes to an hour and it will depend on how many areas of your face are being treated.

There are very few side effects with Botox unlike with other cosmetic surgery procedures. Sometimes swelling and bruising may occur. The downside of Botox treatment is that the results only last four months so you will have to get treatment frequently to see lasting results. It is also prohibitively expensive for many people.

Another type of popular cosmetic surgery injection is the collagen injection. Collagen injections temporarily give your skin a smoother, more youthful look. There is no recovery time and you can literally be in and out of the surgeon's office. With collagen injections, you can fill in deep face wrinkles, plump up sunken areas, add fullness to your cheeks or lips, and give your appearance more balance. As with Botox, the downside of collagen injections is that their effects are temporary and they are costly.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are a cosmetic surgery procedure that consists of painting the face with an acid solution and removing the top layers of the skin. You can choose anywhere from a 30 percent to 70 percent strength acid peel. The end result is skin with improved texture. The acid peel works by removing the damaged outer layers of your skin.

After the top layer your skin is peeled away, your skin regenerates and replaces it with new, fresh skin that doesn't have lines and wrinkles. You will feel some stinging and irritation after a chemical peel and perhaps see some redness. After getting a chemical peel, it is extremely important to use sun block because your skin will be sensitive to sunlight.

In conclusion, there are many cosmetic surgery procedures that are fast and effective. However, you have to take their potential side effects into consideration as well as their costs. Non-invasive cosmetic surgery procedures may provide only temporary effects but their convenience is unmatched.
